Our Story

FreeForm—a sense of no boundaries and creative thinking—is not just a name. It is a core which expresses the excitement we bring to every project. HONESTLY, we really are geeks with a passion……but dare we say, pretty darn talented geeks!!

FreeForm originally started as a non-profit, partnering with anti-sex trafficking NGOs to backbone their technology infrastructure throughout South America. FreeForm learned to work out of the box and the importance of redundancy and critical uptime by having to build wireless uplinks to keep remote mud-hospitals networked 24/7; run fiber paths through mountain cutouts that run miles with no electrical taps; bring makeshift campsites online that were greenlit with less than 48 hours-notice. MORE important than any skill; the integrity of our work and desire to ‘no matter what’ figure out a solution, is what pushed us through conditions (and even dangers) year after year.

Through all this, attention to detail and integrity become a natural byproduct.. We have worked on landmark buildings were infrastructure upgrades could not alter the aesthetics, and our years working non-profit means we can stretch even the smallest budget or simplest project.

We truly care about building relationships, so no matter how small or large, let us find out how we can help and if we are the right fit!

About the Founder

Jonathan Vargas, as CEO of FreeForm Technology Services, is hands-on in FreeForm’s day-to-day operations providing small-business, commercial and residential services in both the South Florida and New York City markets. He directly oversees the mission of FreeForm’s non-profit branch, which leverages FreeForm’s IT manpower and extensive experience—along with its supply-chain partnerships—to work with NGOs in prevention of sex-trafficking in South America.

Our Team

Our team is not only passionate, but puts attention to detail first. We have dedicated teams for each of our three residential/small business, non-profit and commercial branches. And just in case we are jumping in to an extra “spicy” project (battlefield) or a “what-if” scenario for a client unsure exactly what they want, we have a former Apple developer, two Apple-certified technicians, a Cisco network engineer, a fiber site mapper and we keep a full-time graphic designer in-house to custom any application or overlays which might be desired for automated integrations, security access or phone systems.

We have fun with what we do and we keep it light. Sincerely!, the team wanted to say, “Thank you,” for giving us the chance to try something new and passionately bring your needs alive.

Following his Computer Science background and two year’s working at Apple after the completion of his CS dissertation, Jonathan was recruited as Chief Operating Officer by Business Development Network, Inc. (BDN) to revitalize their fledgling sales department and oversee their IT services.. Within 14 months, BDN went from negative gross-profits to posting its best quarter in company history, and reducing employee turnover by over 35%. It is during this tenure, where Jonathan says he most learned how listening to and inspiring individuals to invest in themselves is, the fastest and most humble way to ensure a productive, energetic company.

Completing a Master’s degree in philosophy and social justice, Jonathan combined his managerial and IT experience to help found a non-profit aimed at ending sex-trafficking in South America by providing at and below-cost services to local non-profits. He has a permanent board seat on two New York based non-profits, and is a contributing member to the board of Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, here in South Florida.

Jonathan likes to say, my fascination is the world of computers, but my passion is people. He is proud of his two young children, and unshakingly credits his wife for the stamina he maintains in all his professional responsibilities. He thanks and always points to the Lord for his opportunity to give back to the community.
